The Organic Pharmacy are passionate about using organic ingredients for their products.
This is shown through some of their products gaining certification with Ecocert. This means they have to adhere to strict guidelines regarding minimum organic percentages in their products.
The products that are certified through Ecocert are clearly identifiable on their website.
The Organic Pharmacy state that all of their products are free from petrochemical parabens, phenoxyethanol, artificial perfumes, synthetic colourants and GMOs.
However, it’s important to note that some of their products do contain essential oils that are used as a fragrance.
The Organic Pharmacy claim to not test on animals or sell in markets, such as China, that require animal testing. They also state that they run a fully fair trade practice and ensure that all of their products are reef safe.
Although they claim that some of their products are vegan, they do specify that they are not a vegan brand. The vegan products available are clearly identified.
However, despite these claims, there are no clear certifications available to support this.
The Organic Pharmacy does hold strong connections with various charitable causes. Most recently they’ve supported the ‘Women Supporting Women’ initiative.
Set up through The Prince’s Trust, they are dedicated to helping nurture, empower and inspire thousands of vulnerable young women on their journey to building a better future.
Their current foundation range (4) is very limited and doesn’t include sufficient range for all skin tones. There’s currently no evidence available to support that they use disability-friendly packaging.
Packaging, Practices + Policies
The Organic Pharmacy is mindful of the packaging they use for their products.
Their bottles are made from glass, which is recyclable. They also use tree-free paper for their product packaging.
This paper is made using hemp, bamboo and bagasse fibres. The Organic Pharmacy also print their labels with vegetable ink.
*Although these policies are not publicly available on their website, they are required to have them for ECOCERT certification.
