Learn more about ECOCERT
The ECOCERT certification, as well as European law, ensures that their products are cruelty-free to animals.
Many of their products are also vegan, including their new lipstick range.
Their website claims their silica and mica is responsibly sourced.
All Absolution products are suitable for all genders, ages and skin types – and their marketing supports this.
However, their current concealer (5) and foundation (2) range is very limited does not yet include a sufficient range for darker skin tones or disability-friendly packaging.
Packaging, Practices & Policies
Aside from the organic ingredients used in their formulation, which have a positive social and environmental impact, Absolution also continues to strive for more eco-friendly options in their packaging and manufacturing practices. Again the COSMOS-ECOCERT standard offers assurances to this.
Their unique eco-design packaging is held together without glue by using a specific folding technique. Made from recycled paper and printed with vegetable inks.
They have also recently updated their lipstick packaging. Their new range, and to our understanding, any new manufacturing runs, will be cased in their new recycled and recyclable aluminium lipstick bullet.
Some of their body care range also comes in recycled and recyclable plastic bottles. However, more effort could be made to educate the customer on how to disassemble and recycle various items.
* Although technically all their packaging is recyclable, some of them require complex disassembly before they can be recycled.
*Although these policies are not publicly available on their website, they are required to have them for ECOCERT certification.
